Hello all! I just got back from an utterly delightful trip to Martha's Vineyard, off the coast of Cape Cod.. Here's a preview of one of the gingerbread cottages for now! Happy Friday.. Stay cool :-)
Summer Brunch at The Surf Lodge
Tuesday
While visiting the Hamptons a few weekends ago, we stopped at the The Surf Lodge in Montauk, co-designed by an old colleague of mine. The brunch was beyond deeelicious! I'll let the photos give you a "taste" of it all, lol.
(My good pal Maurenice of Villa Bisono, took all these fantastic pics, they appeared previously on her site so make sure to check out her page for all things interior design and inspiration!)

Jetsetter Weekend III : Indian Summer
Thursday
We came across these tee-pees during a morning walk along the lake and saw these little drums inside, so of course, we had to "play" them! Yes, very intense drumming session this was... We brought a whole new meaning to the term Indian Summer, lol.

Jetsetter Weekend II : Cycling to Town
Wednesday
Ok, you know there's no botox in THAT forehead (as I try to take foolish pics while riding my bike.) We cycled into the super cute town of Kent, Connecticut about 10 minutes away from the camp, any longer and my legs would have fallen off my body. (Yes, I'm that out of shape) It was a charming place lined with quaint little antique shops, old houses, and cafes. We stopped in a few places, chilled for a bit, and then got yelled at for taking photos with the vintage bicycle on the lawn.. haha, Oh well !
I loved this ornate wooden bench with carved details and drawers!!

Jetsetter Weekend I : Summer Camp in the Berkshires!
Tuesday
I never went to summer camp as a kid.. sucks, BUT I made up for lost time over the weekend!.. LoL .. I booked a Jetsetter deal for the Berkshire Mountains in Connecticut – Lakeside cabins, slip 'n slides, parties/dancing, wine tasting, food, fun, sun and not a child in sight. I played some football and toasted marshmallows & smores for the first time ever.. What can I say, this city girl doesn't go country very often, lol. The live rendition of Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl by the bonfire was such the icing on this All-American cake :-)
Mayan Highlands : July Feature for Vecu Magazine
I covered the mysterious land of the Mayans in Guatemala for VĂ©cu's Practical Magic issue. Here's a look at my feature for July.
" There's a certain air in the land of the Mayans in Guatemala. It's like centuries of wisdom, knowledge and sorcery float about, mingling freely with modern day Christian beliefs. Every pattern on their clothes means something, and every now and then, you can actually feel the earth shake. From the colonial streets of Antigua, with it's not so distant volcanoes to the colorful highlands of Chichicastenango to the famous Lake Atitlan - the magic was ever-looming. I went so far as to visit a seer, he spoke mostly Mayan. On my way out, I spotted a high priest walking by with the tell-tale clothing and spear in hand, and dozens of others paying their respects to the gods and past loved ones by burning incense in front of the churches. I'll tell you, it was definitely something to not only be able to see, but also experience the way of the Maya. "
