Where to Stay in Las Vegas

It's barely January but before you know it, bikini season will be upon us and Las Vegas will be back in full swing! If you're planning a trip there and need to narrow down the hundreds of hotel options, here are 5 luxe picks. Fret not if these don't fit your style or budget, luckily there's something for everyone in Vegas. Start with what you plan on doing and what your main interests are and take it from there to find most suitable choice.

THEhotel at Mandalay Bay
I can personally vouch for this all suite hotel... My stay was impeccable! THEhotel (pronounced thee) is a haven of sophistication that sets a tone of confident discretion. Each suite is equipped with tile entries, wet bars and all are at least 725 square feet. A big deal in an era of 'pay big for small things'. My favorite detail about THEhotel though? Your pooch is welcome here! Dog-friendly rooms are available so you can bring Fido along for the fun. Loved this super chic hotel.

The Cosmopolitan
Intimate urban interiors, distinct pools, and a desert-inspired spa... This relatively new hotel (opened Dec. 2010) is trendy, hip, and young and at the intersection of art and life at The Cosmopolitan is 'The Chandelier'. The chandelier (which apparently you can sit in) houses three unique Las Vegas bar experiences: high-energy hot spot, sophisticated cocktail haven and inviting lounge. In the mood for a real party but still daytime? Problem solved with Marquee which debuted its Dayclub this past spring. It features Grand Cabanas with individual infinity pools, a multitude of three-story Bungalow Lofts, complete with a cabana, living quarters and a party deck on top. As the commercial says.. just the right amount of wrong, lol.

The Wynn
A few words come to mind with The Wynn... dazzling, awe-inspiring, whimsical, and just plain f***ing amazing. I think if I returned to Vegas I'd stay here. In my opinion, they have the most intriguing and original shows, ambience and decor of all the hotels in this town. If I could live here forever...

Four Seasons Las Vegas
Can you ever go wrong with the Four Seasons? I think not. (Except for your wallet maybe. Ouch.) The stylish, newly renovated guest rooms reflect their trademark luxury combined with modern sophistication. FYI, if you're in Vegas mainly for the casinos, this hotel remains non-gaming. Gamblers will have to use the facilities at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino which is connected to the Four Seasons as are many of the hotels in Las Vegas.

The Venetian
If only just for the sheer achievement of recreating an entire city on water in the heart of what is basically a desert... Pretty remarkable to walk through and guessing just as remarkable to sleep in. You'll have your choice of 7 styles of suites at this ultra-plush five diamond resort, the world's largest. If you've worked up an appetite exploring this Italian 'city' there are 16 fine dining options and 23 casual eateries and cafes. Then go burn all those calories at the one and only Lavo nightclub by the Tao group.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

No matter where you stay be sure to get back to the basics of Las Vegas... Have a hell of a time! Chances are you won't be spending much time in your room anyway. There's a whim to suit every individual taste in this town, from the newlyweds just married by Elvis to the entertainment junkies waiting in line to see Celine Dion. Just remember, that regardless of where you've chosen to lay your head at night, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!
