The Art Issue : September Feature for Vecu Magazine

Sunday

The most beautiful issue yet of Vécu is out, featuring tons of international talent and gorgeous artwork. My piece on San Francisco Street Art (which I posted about on the blog last week) begins on page 113. Make sure to check out all the great artists in the September issue here. The cover alone, by Parisian artist Amylee, is absolutely gorgeous.

Martha's Vineyard : August Feature for Vecu Magazine

Friday

My feature for the August issue of Vécu magazine is out and how beautiful is the cover? The red dress, antique necklace, and I'm especially obsessing over that umbrella! This is one of their most beautiful issues yet. Below is the intro to my spread found on pg. 70: View full issue here.

"The late afternoon sun... Those last days of the season when the summer seems to bid farewell with a fading light. One tries to capture as much of the remaining shine as possible before twilight sets in... sitting by the shore or collecting seashells or perhaps watching the sun set behind the horizon and rise again in the early morning.  As in perfect preparation for the final adieu, fog sets in and a chill obliges you to pull on that light fall sweater. Farewell for now summer... I will see you next year."

Mayan Highlands : July Feature for Vecu Magazine

Tuesday

I covered the mysterious land of the Mayans in Guatemala for Vécu's Practical Magic issue. Here's a look at my feature for July.

" There's a certain air in the land of the Mayans in Guatemala. It's like centuries of wisdom, knowledge and sorcery float about, mingling freely with modern day Christian beliefs. Every pattern on their clothes means something, and every now and then, you can actually feel the earth shake. From the colonial streets of Antigua, with it's not so distant volcanoes to the colorful highlands of Chichicastenango to the famous Lake Atitlan - the magic was ever-looming. I went so far as to visit a seer, he spoke mostly Mayan. On my way out, I spotted a high priest walking by with the tell-tale clothing and spear in hand, and dozens of others paying their respects to the gods and past loved ones by burning incense in front of the churches. I'll tell you, it was definitely something to not only be able to see, but also experience the way of the Maya. "

I'm in Vécu Magazine!

Tuesday

I'm super excited to announce my first feature in the April issue of Vécu magazine. Vécu is a beautiful source of inspiration – fashion, art, and design, with absolutely gorgeous photography and interesting information I've not seen elsewhere. I was in total love with their aesthetic since I first came across Vécu, so I was thrilled when asked to contribute.

My feature begins on page 48 and covers two of my day trips in Tuscany, one which I posted about last month in Lucca and also a new one about wine tasting in Chianti. Hope you enjoy!
